About Sonamarg
Sonamarg, meaning Meadow of Gold, is situated at an altitude of 2,800 metres in the Ganderbal district of Kashmir. The name comes from the golden flowers that carpet the meadows in summer.
Sonamarg is the last major town before the Zoji La pass that leads to Ladakh, making it a gateway to some of the most dramatic landscapes in the Himalayas. The Thajiwas Glacier, just a short pony ride away, is one of the most accessible glaciers in India.
