I didn't start a travel company. I came home.

Ten years in Bangalore. Then one decision that changed everything. This is how Trivilio started — and why we do it the way we do.

I'm Aamir. I spent ten years in Bangalore working in Learning & Development. I built training programs. I ran corporate offsites. I planned team retreats across India. It was good work. Meaningful work. But every time I flew back to Srinagar for a holiday, something nagged at me.

I'd see tourists being rushed through Dal Lake in thirty minutes. I'd see families checking into hotels that I knew were overpriced and underwhelming. I'd watch travel agents sell "Kashmir packages" from Delhi without ever having set foot in the valley. And I'd think — these people deserve better. This place deserves better.

So in 2014, I quit. Packed up my apartment in Bangalore. Came back to Srinagar. And started Trivilio with a simple idea: what if a Kashmiri who actually lives here, who knows every road and every hidden meadow and every houseboat owner by name, curated your trip personally?

That idea hasn't changed. We're still based in Srinagar. I still pick up the phone when guests call. And every single itinerary that goes out has been put together by someone who woke up this morning looking at the same mountains you're coming to see.

The only thing that's changed is the number. We started with three people and one car. Today, there's a team of fifteen. But the philosophy is the same — no templates, no shortcuts, no copy-paste trips. Just Kashmir, done personally.

Fifteen people. One valley. All locals.

Every person on our team was born in Kashmir. We don't outsource. We don't subcontract. When you travel with Trivilio, you're in the hands of people who call this place home.

From your first message to your last day in Kashmir.

You reach out.

WhatsApp, phone call, email, form on the website — however you're comfortable. Tell us your dates, your group size, what kind of experience you're looking for. There's no questionnaire. It's a conversation.

We build your trip.

Within two hours, you get a personalised itinerary. Not a PDF pulled off a shelf. A trip designed around what you told us. We'll suggest hotels we've personally stayed in. Routes we've personally driven. Restaurants where we've personally eaten. You'll know the cost upfront — hotel, cab, meals, guide, everything. No hidden charges. No surprises at checkout.

You arrive. We take over.

Airport pickup. Your driver is already briefed. Hotels are confirmed. The itinerary is set but flexible — if you want to spend an extra hour at a meadow, we adjust. Our team is available on call throughout your trip. Not a helpdesk. Actual humans in Srinagar who can solve problems in real time.

You leave with stories.

That's the goal. Not just photos for Instagram. Real stories. The shopkeeper in Lal Chowk who taught you about Pashmina. The driver who took you on a detour to a walnut grove. The morning you woke up on a houseboat and the only sound was the call to prayer echoing across Dal Lake. That's what we build.

Four things we don't compromise on.

Transparency over everything.

The price we quote is the price you pay. Every cost is listed. Every hotel is named. We never spring a surprise on a guest. That is a line we do not cross.

We only sell what we know.

Every hotel, every houseboat, every route — someone on our team has been there. We don't recommend places from brochures. We recommend places from experience.

Your trip, your pace.

We don't do rigid schedules. If you want to spend three hours at a meadow instead of rushing to the next stop, we adjust. Your holiday should feel like a holiday, not a checklist.

Kashmir comes first.

We hire local. We use local drivers, local guides, local vendors. The money you spend on your trip stays in the valley and supports the community that makes it all possible.

What people say after travelling with us.

★★★★★

"I booked Kashmir holidays for 5 nights through Trivilio owned by Mr Aamir. He is an amazing personality — very honest and caring. His eye to every single detail on your daily tours makes him extremely special. He booked great hotels in our budget, took feedback from hotel owners daily, and arranged a great person named Ubaid for sightseeing and transfers. Itinerary was planned so we don't miss anything and stay refreshed all the time. Thank you Aamir for a wonderful experience — it was a lifetime memory for us."

"It was a wonderful experience and booking the trip through Trivilio was the right decision. I was initially concerned as we were travelling with a small kid and elderly parents but the arrangements were seamless — they were constantly in touch with us. The driver Jamsheed was very good. We stayed at Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Srinagar and all three properties were as per our requirements. The trip became all the more memorable due to team Trivilio and we felt safe travelling with family."

"We booked our honeymoon with Trivilio on the recommendation of a friend and it exceeded every expectation. The houseboat on Dal Lake was magical — waking up to the mountains reflected in still water is something I will never forget. Aamir personally checked in with us every single day. The candlelit dinner on the houseboat deck on our last night made us both cry. Kashmir with Trivilio is not a trip. It is an experience that changes you."

"Just another tour operator? Hell no. They become your personal planner. Amazing experience with the team. They actually curate your itinerary depending on your mood and ensure you go back with tons of memories created for you. The guide assigned to us knew Srinagar's history better than any book I have read. The houseboat cook prepared the best Wazwan I have ever eaten. We are already planning a return trip."

"We did the combined Kashmir and Ladakh trip over 10 days and the logistics were flawless — every hotel, every transfer, every permit arranged without us having to think about anything. The driver who took us through the mountain passes knew every road as if he had built them. Pangong Lake at sunrise, with the colour shifting from deep blue to silver, was worth every rupee. Bilal, our guide for Sonamarg, was knowledgeable and brilliant company. We are already planning to bring our children next year."

"We brought our entire team of 18 people for a corporate offsite to Kashmir. Aamir understood immediately what we needed — not just logistics but experience. The team building activities in Pahalgam valley, the group Wazwan dinner in Srinagar, the sunrise hike in Gulmarg — it was perfectly paced and everyone came back genuinely refreshed. The coordination for a group our size was impeccable. Trivilio made us look good as organisers, and more importantly, gave our team memories they are still talking about six months later."

"We were a group of six women travelling to Kashmir for the first time and safety was our primary concern. Trivilio addressed every worry before we even asked. Faizan briefed us fully, shared emergency numbers, and connected us with a female guide for some days. The accommodations were excellent — safe, clean, warm and beautifully located. Pahalgam in particular left us all speechless. Every woman in our group has now recommended Trivilio to at least three other friends. This company genuinely cares."
